What I learned from The Chris Rock slap

Well, for one thing I have always admired the actor Will Smith and watched his rise from being the funny youth on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to a serious multi-faceted actor playing the roles of Muhammad Ali, A high level con man in closer, and the government sniper in Gemini man.

No, I do not condone what he did to Chris Rock. In fact, It seemed so out of character for Will.

There are many different opinions based on that situation:

Some people say that it was his frustrations toward his wife’s disrespect in his marriage.

Some say he is trapped in a cycle of having to please this woman and she does not truly appreciate him.

Some say that the slap was staged. Chris was wearing facial padding.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain Will Smith is not a stupid man.

A stupid man could not rise from being a rapper to a world famous movie star that commands 20 million dollars a picture, and has a personal wealth of over Three hundred million dollars.

Will Smith, by his own admission has a sickening disgusting work ethic. And with that ethic, He rose to the Pinnacle of his career and is known all over the world, and has an impressive body of work.

As far as his home life is concerned:

Everyone is going to have an opinion. Everyone is going to give advice. Everybody is going to say that his wife is evil. everyone is going to say that he has some weird arrangement, weird lifestyles, and unconventional view of marriage.

My personal opinion is this:

Will Smith and Jada Smith are both Intelligent people. Will Smith has carefully built his life and his image to what it is today. He is not a stupid man. And, whatever it is he’s involved in none of us will actually know the real truth.

Also, that man has amassed more wealth and money than most of us will ever see in one lifetime, let alone two.

What I know is this: a man of that level of intelligence, capability, resources, and personal drive, is already aware of what is happening in his life. All our advice, suggestions, criticisms, and complaints, mean absolutely nothing until he decides that he wants to make a change in his life.

The lesson that I get from all of this is: even if a person accomplishes the freedom, Comfort, convenience, and luxury, that they can afford, in the end, they are just people who have problems like anyone else. The only difference is Will Smith’s problems are just more public than everyone else’s.

I would love to be able to celebrate this man’s accomplishments. I have been doing so for several years now. I don’t know what’s going on in his personal life. I will never know.

But What I do know is this: he had the power to bring himself to the level that he’s at right now oh, he can also make the necessary decisions to take his life into any direction he wants it to go.

And a lesson that I have learned from this is:

We all have the power to make the decisions for our lives, who and what we have in our lives is a choice

From everything I’ve seen, I have learned that it is important to be more discreet, and to know when to say no.

I’ve learned keep my business discreet had to examine and refuse any elements that will cause discord, chaos and eventual destruction to my life.

I wish both Will Smith and Chris Rock well, because I have no idea what’s really going on. My criticisms won’t make any difference in a Will’s life. He doesn’t even know I exist.

For a man of that level of intelligence to work that hard, to get to that height in his career, only to have it destroyed in a few minutes is truly saddening, disappointing, and quite telling.

I hope Will works it all out.

I’d like to see him back on top.
