Let me explain, it’s not what it sounds like
I started looking around the internet, and I found a bunch of interesting stuff. If at first glance you see a word you might incorrectly assume that you know what it means. Well at least, that’s what happened to me. In the course of checking things out, and finding out the true meaning I ended up learning a lot. Perhaps you can too, and at the same time, increase your vocabulary. Here are some of the words that I found.
the study of baby goats? Nope. Kidology is the art or practice of bluffing or deception. Used often at poker games and politics.
the study of tops? Nope. Topology is the arrangement of the natural and artificial physical features of an area. This refers to Maps as they attempt to simulate what an area may look like concerning terrain or natural structures.
most people should know this one. it ain’t about meteors either. is the branch of science concerned with the process and phenomena of the atmosphere, especially as a means of forecasting weather. Besides, even if we did find an actual meteor, how long do you think somebody’s going to spend studying it?
the study of Horror? Nope. horology is the study and measurement of time. And also, the art of making watches and clocks. now if you were to tell a person who is unfamiliar with that line of work and say you are a horologist… well who’s to say what their reaction might be?
the study of ooh? the study of Oolong tea? nope, it’s the study of eggs. I guess, they couldn’t just use the word eggology.
the study of herpes? Nope. It’s the study of reptiles and amphibians.
the study of rhinos? Nope. it’s the study of the nose. there are many different fields of study in the world, this might very well be part of a plastic surgeons Focus.
This is some of the stuff I learned just looking around the internet. It’s very interesting. And also helps to build vocabulary hope you find it useful.
